Drivers in downtown Killeen should prepare for changes as construction begins on the new Bell County Annex. Starting Tuesday, August 12th, several key streets will undergo lane modifications to accommodate the project.

According to city officials, the following sections will be reduced to two 10-foot lanes:

• North Gray Street from East Avenue A to East Avenue B
• North 4th Street from East Avenue A to East Avenue B
• East Avenue A from North Gray Street to North 4th Street
• East Avenue B from North Gray Street to North 4th Street

These changes will remain in effect 24 hours a day—including overnight and weekends—for the duration of the construction. The city notes that adjustments may occur as the project progresses, with updates provided as needed.

Construction crews and equipment will be active in the area, and traffic will be guided around work zones. Motorists are urged to expect delays, exercise caution, and follow all posted traffic control devices.
