Scheduled maintenance on the city’s water system has led to a temporary interruption of water services for select properties along Lewis Street and Highland Avenue. As a precaution, the City of Killeen has issued a Boil Water Notice for the following addresses:

Lewis Street: 2705, 2706, 2710, 2711, 2715, 2716, 2721, 2722, 2725, 2726, 2729, 2800, 2801, 2804

Highland Avenue: 815

This notice, required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), is in effect beginning August 11, 2025. Once water service is restored, all affected residents must boil water prior to consumption until further notice.

To ensure safety:

  • Bring water to a vigorous rolling boil
  • Continue boiling for two full minutes
  • Allow it to cool before use

This applies to water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and making ice. Bottled water or water from a verified safe source may be used as an alternative.

The City of Killeen will issue a public update when the notice is lifted. Residents can check the City of Killeen website or call the Boil Water Notice Hotline at (254) 501-6515 for the latest information.
