In response to a major break in one of the city’s main water transmission lines, Mayor Pro Tem Vonya Hart has issued a Declaration of Local Disaster and enacted Stage 4A Water Restrictions, effective Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 5:30 p.m.
The break has significantly compromised the city’s ability to meet water demand while repairs are underway. Officials anticipate the emergency measures will remain in place for approximately 24 hours, pending completion of repairs.
All citizens are strongly urged to review and comply with the Stage 4A Water Restrictions, which are available on the City of Copperas Cove’s website and through the municipal code portal.
Violations of the order may result in a Class C Misdemeanor, with fines ranging from $100 to $2,000.
Updates will be posted on the City’s website and social media channels. Notification will be provided once the restrictions are lifted.
