Residents in parts of East Rancier Avenue and Patton Road can breathe a sigh of relief as the City of Killeen officially lifts a Boil Water Notice that had been in effect due to scheduled waterline maintenance.
The notice, issued as a precautionary measure, affected the following addresses:
- 1806 E. Rancier Avenue
- 1608 E. Rancier Avenue (Killeen Elementary School)
- 702, 704, 706, 708, 710, 802, 804, 806, 808, 810 Patton Road
As part of the city’s waterline rehabilitation program, private contractors installed a new water line in the area, requiring a temporary interruption of water service. In accordance with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) guidelines, residents were advised to boil water before consumption until lab results confirmed the water was safe.
Water samples taken after the repairs showed no signs of contamination, and the boil notice has now been lifted. Residents were notified through door hangers, press releases, and local news outlets. The City of Killeen also updated its website and Boil Water Notice Hotline at (254) 501-6515.
