Leadership Spotlight: Dr. Terri Osborne Steps In

In a pivotal leadership transition, the Killeen Independent School District Board of Trustees has appointed Dr. Terri Osborne as Acting Superintendent, following the resignation of Dr. Jo Ann Fey. The announcement, made by Board President Brett Williams, emphasizes stability and momentum as the district prepares for the new school year.
Dr. Osborne currently serves as Deputy Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and School Leadership. Though relatively new to KISD, she brings nearly two decades of educational experience across Texas and abroad. Trustees praised her deep understanding of academic accountability and her ability to guide strategic improvements that help every student reach their full potential.
Williams described Dr. Osborne as “a steady hand at the right time,” noting her commitment to fostering a positive environment where students, educators, and families feel supported and empowered. The Board plans to name an interim superintendent within 30 days, while continuing its search for a permanent leader.
As the district enters this new chapter, Dr. Osborne’s leadership promises clarity, consistency, and a strong start to the school year.
