In response to the recent wave of severe storms, straight-line winds, and devastating flooding that began July 2, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is stepping up with vital support for Kerr County’s recovery. Beginning Friday, July 11, the SBA will open a Business Recovery Center (BRC) in Kerrville to assist local small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and residents who’ve been impacted.

Located at the YES Center inside First Presbyterian Church, the center will serve as a one-stop resource where SBA customer service representatives provide personalized guidance on disaster loan applications. Whether you’re a business owner assessing damage or a resident managing unexpected costs, help is available—no appointment necessary, though scheduling ahead is an option via appointment.sba.gov.

🕒 Hours of Operation:

  • Monday to Friday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Opening Day: Friday, July 11 at 11 a.m. 📍 The YES Center, First Presbyterian Church, 823 North St., Kerrville, TX 78028

Chris Stallings, Associate Administrator for the SBA’s Office of Disaster Recovery and Resilience, highlighted the importance of in-person support:

“Business owners can visit these centers to meet face to face with specialists who will guide them through the disaster loan application process and connect them with resources to support their recovery.”

Eligible businesses and nonprofits may apply for physical disaster loans of up to $2 million to restore real estate, equipment, inventory, and other vital assets. Additionally, Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDLs) provide critical working capital—even for those who sustained no physical damage. These funds can help cover payroll, fixed debts, and ongoing bills.

Homeowners and renters also qualify for low-interest loans to repair or replace damaged property:

  • Up to $100,000 for personal belongings such as clothing and appliances
  • Up to $500,000 for primary residence repair

Interest Rates:

  • 4% for small businesses
  • 3.625% for nonprofits
  • 2.813% for homeowners and renters. Payments begin 12 months after the first disbursement, with terms up to 30 years.

Deadlines to Apply:

  • Physical Damage Loans: September 4, 2025
  • Economic Injury Loans: April 6, 2026

Residents and business owners may also find assistance at broader disaster recovery centers once opened across impacted areas.
