Amazon is expanding its footprint in Texas with the development of a 127,000-square-foot delivery station in Belton, as announced by the Belton Economic Development Corporation (BEDC) on Monday. The facility, located on Capitol Way, just east of Interstate 35, is set to begin construction in the coming weeks.

The project is a result of collaboration between BEDC and the City of Belton, aimed at bringing new jobs and industry to the area. Brandon Bozon, president of the BEDC Board of Directors, emphasized the significance of Amazon’s decision, calling it a “win for our community.”

The new delivery station will play a crucial role in last-mile logistics, ensuring packages are efficiently routed from fulfillment centers and loaded onto vehicles for final delivery. Mayor David K. Leigh highlighted the benefits of the project, noting that it will create local jobs, strengthen the tax base, and improve service for residents.

Jessica Breaux, Amazon’s senior manager of economic development, expressed gratitude for the partnership with BEDC and the City of Belton, reinforcing Amazon’s commitment to the region.

Since 2010, Amazon has made a significant impact in Texas, creating more than 86,000 jobs and investing over $70 billion across the state.
