The Temple Children’s Museum is serving up a unique way to engage the community while supporting hands-on learning and creative play. On May 5, 2025, the museum will hold its first-ever Pickleball Tournament Fundraiser at The Commonwealth, one of Temple’s newest and most popular pickleball venues.
Designed to bring players and spectators together for a day of friendly competition, delicious food and drinks, and exciting raffle prizes, the event underscores the museum’s mission to inspire curiosity and creativity in children through interactive exhibits and educational programming.

“This tournament is a fun and dynamic way to engage the community while raising important funds for the museum,” said Terris Goodwin, a board member at the Temple Children’s Museum. “It’s about creating a great day of pickleball, good food and drinks, and bringing people together to support a cause that benefits children’s creativity and learning.”
The tournament is open to players of all skill levels, with opportunities for individuals and businesses to participate in multiple ways—whether playing, spectating, or sponsoring the event. Admission includes food and drink, and attendees can try their luck in the raffle for the chance to win fantastic prizes.
With Temple’s growing investment in recreational opportunities—including expanding pickleball access—the museum saw an opportunity to celebrate both play and purpose. Funds raised from the tournament will help support museum operations, programming, and future growth, all while highlighting the role of community recreation in fostering creativity and development.
The museum expressed deep gratitude to Ciaburri Brands, the Title Sponsor, and The Commonwealth, whose generous support and commitment are helping bring this event to life.
Local businesses can still take advantage of sponsorship opportunities, which include marketing benefits such as event signage, program ads, and tickets to participate or attend. Sponsorships are tax-deductible, making them a great way to give back while gaining visibility.
