Midway ISD Honors Outstanding Educators with 2025 ‘Teacher of the Year’ Awards

At Midway Independent School District, excellence in education is more than a goal—it’s a tradition. That commitment was on full display as the district proudly recognized three extraordinary educators with its 2025 Teachers of the Year awards, celebrating their dedication, innovation, and impact on students.

Each year, Midway ISD shines a spotlight on teachers who go above and beyond to inspire learning, build confidence, and foster a love of education. This year’s honorees embody the heart and soul of the district’s mission:

  • Carson Sims, Rookie of the Year
  • Pamela Blair, District Elementary Teacher of the Year
  • Megan Brown, District Secondary Teacher of the Year

These educators were selected not only for their instructional expertise but for their ability to create meaningful connections with students and contribute to the wider school community.

Meet the Honorees

Carson Sims, a first-grade teacher at Hewitt Elementary, was awarded Rookie of the Year for her enthusiasm and fresh perspective in the classroom. In just her first year of teaching, Sims has made an incredible impact, earning the admiration of both her students and colleagues.
A veteran educator, Pamela Blair, who teaches fifth-grade reading language arts and social studies at Woodway Elementary, was recognized as District Elementary Teacher of the Year. Known for her student-centered approach and engaging instruction, Blair has shaped countless young minds through her dynamic teaching style.
Megan Brown, an Algebra I teacher at Midway High School, was named District Secondary Teacher of the Year, honoring her exceptional ability to make math both accessible and meaningful. Her dedication to ensuring students not only grasp mathematical concepts but develop confidence in their skills sets her apart.

Superintendent Dr. Chris Allen praised the award recipients, emphasizing their invaluable contributions to the district.

“Celebrating our Teachers of the Year is a testament to the dedication and passion that define Midway ISD,” said Dr. Allen. “These educators inspire greatness in every student, and their unwavering commitment elevates our entire community. We are incredibly proud and blessed to have such amazing teachers here at Midway ISD.”
