In response to ongoing concerns about water availability, the City of Lampasas has officially adopted a Drought Contingency and Water Conservation Plan to safeguard its water supply and infrastructure. The plan outlines key regulations and voluntary restrictions designed to encourage responsible water use while maintaining the integrity of the city’s water facilities.

As of April 11, 2025, Lampasas is in Stage 1 of the plan, indicating mild water shortage conditions. The city aims to achieve a voluntary 5 percent reduction in total water use or daily water demand. To support this goal, officials are increasing leak detection and repair efforts while keeping the public informed through local media, social platforms, and official city channels.

Residents are encouraged to limit irrigation based on their street address:

  • Even-numbered addresses (0, 2, 4, 6, 8) should water on Mondays and Thursdays.
  • Odd-numbered addresses (1, 3, 5, 7, 9) should water on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Watering should take place only between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. on designated days.

Additionally, all city operations will adhere to the prescribed restrictions, and residents are urged to minimize or discontinue non-essential water use.

The City of Lampasas emphasizes that voluntary conservation is advised at all times, regardless of drought conditions. Public notifications regarding any changes in conservation stages will be made through official channels to ensure residents remain informed.
