ROUND ROCK, TX – The brave men and women of Texas law enforcement now have a new organization dedicated to their well-being—the Texas State Troopers Foundation (TSTF). Officially launched as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, TSTF is committed to providing financial assistance, scholarships, and community support to active and retired Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) officers and employees, as well as their families.

Founded by the leadership of the Texas State Troopers Association (TSTA), the newly established foundation aims to raise $1 million in its first year to help those who protect the state.

Law enforcement personnel face immense challenges on and off duty, and TSTF recognizes the importance of ensuring their stability. The foundation provides essential aid such as survivor benefits, emergency financial assistance, scholarships for troopers’ children, and outreach programs to build stronger connections between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

“Our DPS employees and their families make incredible sacrifices every day in service to Texas,” said Rohnnie Shaw, Chairman of TSTF. “The Texas State Troopers Foundation is our way of honoring their commitment by providing real, tangible support when they need it most, whether they are facing unexpected hardships, pursuing educational goals, or seeking wellness resources.”

Key Objectives of TSTF:

  • Financial Assistance – Emergency aid for troopers and their families in difficult times.
  • Educational Scholarships – Scholarships to help officers’ children pursue academic success.
  • Community Engagement – Strengthening relationships between law enforcement and local communities.

TSTF is funded through charitable donations, corporate partnerships, and fundraising events. Because it is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, contributions to the foundation are tax-deductible, allowing donors to support Texas troopers while receiving tax benefits.

Businesses, community leaders, and citizens are invited to join the cause and help make a lasting impact on the lives of those who dedicate themselves to protecting Texas.
