Charity Golf Event to Support Families Battling DIPG

GARLAND – The Archer Foundation is hosting a charity golf scramble at Firewheel Golf Course, located at 600 W Campbell Rd, Garland, TX 75044, on Friday, April 4 at 8:00 a.m. The event aims to raise funds to support families whose children are diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare and aggressive brain cancer.

DIPG is the most common brainstem tumor in children, representing approximately 75-80% of all pediatric brainstem tumors. Each year, around 150-300 children in the United States are diagnosed with DIPG. The median age of diagnosis is between 6-7 years old, and the survival rate remains extremely low, with less than 10% of patients surviving beyond two years. The average survival time for children diagnosed with DIPG is about 9-12 months.

The Archer Foundation is committed to providing financial assistance for day-to-day expenses, travel to treatment or clinical trials, and enhancing the quality of life for patients. The foundation’s mission is to ensure that families facing this devastating journey receive the support they need.

The charity scramble will feature a full day of golf, an incredible silent auction, raffle prizes, and numerous opportunities to make a difference in the lives of children fighting for more good days. All funds raised at this event will go directly to supporting these families.
