The Empower Campaign Celebrates Philanthropy and Competition at RX3 Flag Football Tournament

For three years running, The Empower Campaign has championed both charitable giving and competitive spirit at the annual RX3 Charity Flag Football Tournament. This year, the initiative crossed a major milestone—surpassing $1 million in total donations while continuing its mission of uplifting individuals and communities.

Held on March 15 and hosted by Aaron Rodgers’ RX3 Foundation, the tournament brought together athletes, celebrities, and philanthropists for a day of camaraderie and giving. Among the ten competing teams was The Empower Campaign Team, playing in partnership with Love One International, a nonprofit supporting children and families in Uganda.

As part of the event’s quarterback auction, teams had the opportunity to bid on quarterbacks to lead their roster, with auction proceeds benefiting both the RX3 Foundation and each quarterback’s chosen charity. In a strategic third-round pick, The Empower Campaign Team secured Buffalo Bills quarterback and 2024 NFL MVP, Josh Allen, marking the third consecutive year Allen has helmed their team. Over the years, this partnership has contributed more than $320,000 to the Patricia Allen Fund, which supports medical care for children in Buffalo.

“The Empower Campaign is about helping people discover their strength, build confidence, and unlock their potential,” said Heather Miller, founder of The Empower Campaign. “The impact of this event—both on the field and in the funds raised for Love One International, RX3 Foundation, and the Patricia Allen Fund—is a testament to what we can accomplish together.”

Adding a special touch to this year’s event was country music star Thomas Rhett, who joined The Empower Campaign Team for the tournament. Rhett’s wife, Lauren Akins, vice chairman of Love One International, also attended, using her platform to highlight the nonprofit’s work. Their efforts contributed to $75,000 raised for Love One International, furthering its mission to provide life-saving medical care to children in Uganda.

In another exciting addition, women’s flag football standout Maci Joncich joined the Empower Campaign Team. Joncich, who made history in 2024 as the youngest player ever named to the U.S. National Women’s Flag Football Team final roster, showcased her talent against some of the NFL’s biggest names, proving the rising prominence of women’s flag football on a national stage.

Beyond the tournament’s intense matchups, a special moment of recognition was dedicated to the LA County Women’s Fire League for their service during the recent LA wildfires. The Empower Campaign donated $5,000 to the Women’s Fire Alliance, supporting the League’s ongoing commitment to local communities.

With more than $3.5 million raised overall during this year’s RX3 Charity Flag Football Tournament, the event underscored how sports, philanthropy, and unity can drive change.

Founded by philanthropist Heather Miller, The Empower Campaign remains committed to inspiring individuals through connectivity, community, and impactful storytelling. From free youth sports camps to career exploration opportunities for young women, the initiative continues to expand its reach, fostering confidence and resilience in future generations.
