City of Austin Hosts Annual Career Expo with On-the-Spot Job Interviews
The City of Austin will host its annual Career Expo on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Palmer Events Center. This year’s event is expected to feature over 100 employers and will include new opportunities for attendees to participate in on-the-spot interviews for City of Austin jobs.
As part of a contingent hiring pilot program launched in January, City departments can now conduct interviews and extend contingent job offers during recruiting events. Close to 90 job titles are covered under this initiative, spanning fields such as accounting, customer service, finance, human resources, healthcare, engineering, and operations.
The Expo is designed to connect job seekers from diverse backgrounds—including justice-involved individuals, veterans, seniors aged 50 and above, and people with disabilities—with viable job opportunities. Attendees will have the chance to network with employers, resource providers, and representatives from City departments, private companies, state agencies, higher education institutions, technical schools, and staffing agencies. Available positions include skilled labor, customer service, and various other roles.
The event is free for job seekers, with additional perks such as complimentary professional headshots provided on-site. Both employers and job seekers can register for the event at Austintexas.gov/CareerExpo.
This initiative underscores the City of Austin’s commitment to fostering employment opportunities and addressing the diverse needs of the local workforce.
