Killeen Events Happening In March
In a recent episode of “All Things Killeen,” Mayor Debbie Nash-King highlighted the ongoing efforts to support victims of the Atkinson Avenue fire. The City of Killeen has partnered with the United Way of the Greater Tri County Area to facilitate monetary donations for the affected households. Contributions can be made via cash or check and delivered or mailed to 208 West Avenue A, Killeen, Texas 76541. Online donations are also accepted at United Way GTCA’s website.
Additionally, Garden of Hope Central Texas is coordinating in-kind donations by appointment. The organization is seeking cleaning supplies, toilet paper, paper towels, gift cards, and personal hygiene items in travel sizes. Mayor Nash-King emphasized the importance of community support during this challenging time and encouraged residents to contribute in any way they can.
Additionally, she discussed the return of Spring Fest, which will be held on Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Killeen Athletic Complex, located at 2201 East Veterans Memorial Boulevard. Spring Fest will provide a full day of free activities and family-friendly entertainment, featuring ax throwing, bounce houses, face painting, fire truck tours, a live DJ, food trucks, craft vendors, and a dunk booth. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take memorable bunny photos.
The event’s highlight will be the Egg Hunt at 11 a.m., which will include four age-specific fields: 0-3, 4-6, 7-10, and 11-14. An adaptive field will also be available. For additional information, residents may contact the Killeen Parks and Recreation Department.

Mayor Nash-King also expressed her excitement for the return of the Spring Farmers Market to Historic Downtown at 100 East Avenue D. The Night Market will be featured for five Fridays, beginning April 11, and continuing through May 16 from 6-9 p.m. The Killeen Farmers Market featured the first-ever “Night Market” in fall 2023, and will continue with the Spring Night Market, showcasing nearly two dozen of the best local artisans, craft brewers, local chefs, bakers, live music, food trucks, and fresh, local produce as the season progresses and crops mature.

Magician John O’Bryant will dazzle with mind-blowing magic tricks, and Cowboy Ken will impress with incredible trick roping skills.
