Waco Fire Department Celebrates Grand Opening of Fire Station #15

WACO – The Waco Fire Department announced the grand opening of Fire Station #15 and is inviting the community to join in the celebration.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, at 10905 Panther Way, near the Ritchie Road water tower. Attendees can enjoy refreshments, a fire engine push-in ceremony, and a special appearance by Sparky the Fire Dog.
Fire Station #15 is a state-of-the-art, 8,200 square-foot facility with a construction cost of over $6 million. The station features a three-bay setup, individual sleeping quarters for up to eight fire personnel per shift, large washing machines for cleaning firefighters’ gear, apparatus exhaust removal systems, and decontamination areas.
This new fire station will serve the West Waco neighborhood, which has experienced rapid residential growth in recent years. It is fully staffed with one captain, two lieutenants, three engineers, and six firefighters, with a minimum of three personnel on duty daily. The new facility aims to reduce response times and ensure the department can handle emergencies efficiently while maintaining the standard for getting a fire truck on scene.
