Windham’s updated vision and mission statements underscore the district’s commitment to leading in education, inspiring excellence, and transforming lives.

Vision: To be a leader in education by inspiring excellence and transforming lives.

Mission: To guide, motivate and empower students through innovative educational pathways.

These statements reflect the district’s dedication to the academic, career, and personal growth of its students, enabling them to become their best selves.

Windham’s 2025-2029 Strategic Plan emphasizes the delivery of high-quality instruction and smooth transitions into apprenticeships, postsecondary education, or employment. Key goals include:

  • Recruiting and retaining highly qualified teachers and staff.
  • Enhancing technology integration in classrooms.
  • Strengthening communication at all levels.

The plan focuses on continuous improvement and annual progress evaluations to ensure these objectives are met.

Improving internet connectivity and technology usage in classrooms is a cornerstone of the new plan. Windham also aims to maximize pre- and post-reentry employment resources by incorporating career-centered strategies within the classroom and the community. An additional goal is to increase the teacher fill rate from its current 80%.

The strategic plan includes measures to improve communication with students, staff, and stakeholders. By emphasizing person-centered language and improving information flow, Windham aims to create a more respectful and supportive environment.

Kevin Sawnick, Windham Division Director of Instruction, stated, “Our goal is to foster clear and open communication on all levels, ensuring everyone feels heard and supported. By placing an emphasis on person-centered language, we empower our students to see their potential and take meaningful steps toward achieving their goals.”

Windham’s 2025-2029 Strategic Plan represents a significant step toward educational excellence across all its campuses. With a focus on innovative initiatives, the district is set to enhance the quality of programs offered to students, creating lasting, positive impacts on students, their families, and communities throughout Texas.
