Fredericksburg – The National Museum of the Pacific War announced its inclusion in USA Today’s list of the top 10 history museums in the nation. This prestigious recognition comes as the museum commemorates the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The museum has long been a beacon of education and remembrance, dedicated to preserving the rich history of the Asiatic Pacific Theater of World War II. With an extensive collection of artifacts, personal accounts, and interactive exhibits, the museum tells the stories of courage, sacrifice, and strategy that defined the era. The Admiral Nimitz Foundation, established in 1971, is a 501(c)(3) Texas Corporation dedicated to supporting the Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz Naval Museum. The foundation raises funds for and manages the National Museum of the Pacific War.

Founded in 1967, the National Museum of the Pacific War (NMPW) is the only museum in the continental United States solely dedicated to the Pacific and Asiatic Theaters in World War II. Annually, it welcomes over 120,000 visitors, including 15,000 students from across the state. Located on six acres in downtown Fredericksburg, Texas, the museum features three galleries with over 55,000 square feet of exhibit space, 40 media installations, approximately 900 artifacts, 15 macro-artifacts, and hundreds of photographs. It is managed and supported by The Admiral Nimitz Foundation.
