Cold weather shelters will open overnight, Tuesday, Feb. 18 through Thursday, Feb. 20.
Go to One Texas Center (OTC), 505 Barton Springs Road from 6-8pm to register for overnight shelter. Bus routes to the OTC are lines: 1, 7, 10, 20, 30, 105, 142, 801. Anyone seeking a cold weather shelter who does not have the means to pay the fare will still be given a ride.

Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center on Fort Cavazos
The Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center will be on a 8 a.m. weather delay today.
Gastroenterology, Pulmonary, and the Operating Room will start at their scheduled times. All Emergency Room, Labor and Delivery, and Inpatient Hospital Operations will remain open and available.
All appointments prior to 8 a.m. will be rescheduled. Appointments after 8 a.m. will remain scheduled, weather permitting.
Fort Cavazos
The Fort Cavazos Senior Commander has authorized the cancellation of physical training in the morning and delayed reporting Feb. 19 due to inclement weather.
Department of the Army Civilians are directed to report to work at 8 a.m., while Soldiers and Airmen are to report at 9 a.m. Contractors should contact their supervisors for guidance.
Fort Cavazos Child and Youth Services childcare programs and fitness centers will open at 7 a.m. The Warrior Way Fitness Center remains open 24/7.
The Cavazos Connector will begin operating at 7 a.m.
Fort Cavazos dining facilities will operate during normal hours.
Gatesville ISD
Most of our Central Texas weather forecasters are predicting a dry, frigid morning; however, we continue to have a lot of moisture and mist in Gatesville and our surrounding areas where students and staff reside. To give our morning commuters more daylight on their way to school, we will have a 2 hour delayed start.

Killeen
The City of Killeen will partner with Friends in Crisis (412 East Sprott Street) have opened a warming through Saturday, Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. The center is open to ALL community members needing shelter from extreme cold—whether due to power outages, heating issues, or other needs.
City buildings like City Hall, libraries, the Family Recreation Center, and Police Headquarters are also open during business hours for warming.
Morgan ISD
Due to the winter weather advisory that has been posted and the possibility of hazardous roadways, Morgan ISD is delaying the start of school for Wednesday, February 19, 2025. School will start at 10:00am. Buses will run 2 hours later than normal. Staff will need to report at 9:20am and doors to the school will be opened at 9:30am.
