TEMPLE – The Temple Public Library is pleased to announce that 25 blood pressure kits are now available for checkout at no cost to library cardholders. Each kit can be borrowed for a period of three weeks and can be found on the second floor of the library, located at 100 W Adams Ave.
Donated by the McLane Group through their sponsorship of the Bell County Heart Ball, each kit includes an A&D medical multi-user blood pressure monitor, instructions for home blood pressure measurement, and recording logs.
“This program is a testament to the power of community partnerships in promoting health and wellness,” said Natalie Alvara, Director of Libraries and Museums. “By providing these kits to our residents, we hope to empower individuals to take charge of their heart health. These kits have the potential to save lives, and we’re honored to play a role in fostering a healthier Temple.”
For residents interested in checking out a kit but unable to visit the library in person, a homebound delivery service is available. This program delivers library materials to eligible patrons confined to their homes due to illness, disability, or other limitations. Deliveries are made monthly based on city quadrants, ensuring access to resources for all residents within Temple city limits.
In further support of community wellness, the library will host “Do Well, Be Well: Living with Type 2 Diabetes” starting on February 2 at 2 p.m. This free five-week course is designed to provide adults aged 18 and older with the knowledge and support needed to manage Type 2 Diabetes effectively. Space is limited, and registration can be completed online at https://bit.ly/TPLAdultRegistration.
