Special to myKNCT.com
Copperas Cove, Texas – The City of Copperas Cove would like to announce a new initiative, Cove Cares – Senior Meal Delivery Program, which will begin on Monday, March 23, 2020.
This program, sponsored by multiple entities to care for our seniors in the community during the COVID-19 restrictions, is focused on providing meals to eligible Copperas Cove residents and those who qualify with the Copperas Cove Meals on Wheels program.
The purpose of the program is to deliver freshly prepared meals to seniors 60+ years old,
Monday through Friday from 11:30 am to 1 pm, while resources remain available or escalated vulnerability of seniors passes. Meals will be prepared and delivered by Copperas Cove ISD staff to the doorsteps of those who register. If volunteers become needed to assist, a notification will be made to request support.
Registration may be completed by the senior participants and/or their family members by simply contacting Jeri Wood, Copperas Cove Senior Center Community Outreach Specialist, at jwood@copperascovetx.gov or (254)547-6049. Participants will be required to provide their name, address, telephone number, and number of seniors in the residence. For those who leave a phone message or send an email, please include this pertinent information.
