The City of Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department is kicking off the holiday season with a series of festive events scheduled throughout December.

Senior Holiday Party benefiting Blue Santa Seniors age 60 and older are invited to join the annual celebration supporting the Georgetown Police Department’s Blue Santa program. The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, at the Georgetown Recreation Center. Activities include games, an ugly sweater contest, lunch, and a gift exchange. Attendees are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy or a monetary donation. Advanced registration is available online or in person.

Sunset Movie Series: Holiday Edition The Sunset Movie Series returns with a special holiday screening of A Christmas in New Hope, presented in partnership with GTX Film. The free event takes place on Thursday, Dec. 11, at the Legacy Pavilion in San Gabriel Park, 445 E. Morrow St. Pre‑show activities and free popcorn begin at 5:30 p.m., with the movie starting at 6 p.m. The film is family‑friendly and open to all ages.

Winter Wonderland Family Dance Families can enjoy the inaugural Winter Wonderland Family Dance, presented by Subaru of Georgetown, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, at the Georgetown Community Center. The evening will feature a DJ, free face painting, games, a raffle, food for purchase, and a photo booth. Tickets are $5 per person, with advanced registration available online. Volunteers are needed to assist with concessions, the photo booth, and greeting attendees.

Hyped for the Holidays Teen Party Teens ages 12–18 can celebrate the start of winter break at a holiday party from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, at the Georgetown Recreation Center. The event includes pizza, snacks, holiday movies and music, group games, and door prizes. Admission is free with a Recreation Center membership or available with the purchase of a $6 day pass.
